REASONS FOR THE WIDESPREAD INFESTATION – TROPICAL DISEASES

Posted by admin on April 7, 2009

Paddling in a canoe through the dense jungle is no doubt an unforgettable experience many a nature-lover dreams about. The untouched character of nature has a special attraction, and indeed, where man has not yet created order, or disorder, the tropical environment is a unique experience. You think you are in a different world when the sun’s last red-golden rays shoot through the fan-like palm branches in the evening or when the vines hanging from jungle trees appear to take on eery forms. At night, lying on a bamboo mat in a native hut under a mosquito net, never hope to find undisturbed sleep. In the solitude of the jungle unusual noises and animal sounds, often terribly frightening, reach your ears. We get the uncanny feeling of adventure, realising that what we have let ourselves in for is actually more interesting than it is pleasant. Nevertheless, we soon become accustomed to things, and what seemed strange and exotic to begin with becomes gradually more familiar. We begin to recognise plants and animals, and every day new experiences occur in the jungle. Comparatively soon we get used to snakes and wild animals and even the lack of sanitary arrangements, as well as all the discomforts connected with it.
